Fox Cubs

A vixen makes a den under the hedge at the bottom of our garden most years, and the cubs take great delight in playing on our compost heap, especially just after fresh grass had been piled up - some form of "I'm the King of the Castle!". On a sunny morning the vixen also likes using the grassy bed for sunbathing. When we first see the cubs they barely poke noses out from the hedge, but quickly become more confident, with the bolder siblings roaming the garden and the neighbouring field. Not long after that we see fewer and fewer each day, as they start to disperse to lead separate lives.
